Volunteer with Lifesharing

Our volunteers are passionate about organ and tissue donation
Lifesharing’s volunteer team is made up of transplant recipients, donor families and healthcare workers — people who’ve witnessed the healing power of organ and tissue donation firsthand. Through their personal stories, our volunteers inspire audiences and spark important conversations. These passionate individuals play an important role in our lifesaving mission.
Volunteer opportunities at Lifesharing:
School Outreach/Speakers Bureau: These volunteers deliver educational presentations to local high schools and colleges. School volunteers follow a script, but they are also given time to share their personal stories. These volunteers may also be called upon to speak at community events. Lifesharing Volunteer Orientation Training and Lifesharing School Outreach Training are required to join this program. In addition, a confidential background screening is required for all volunteers who speak at schools.
DMV Outreach: Californians can register as organ and tissue donors when they get their driver license through the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). Millions have signed up and countless lives have been saved. Every three months, Lifesharing volunteers visit local DMV offices to educate staff and distribute information.
Hospital Outreach: Lifesharing works closely with local hospitals during the organ donation process, and we need volunteers to help us educate frontline healthcare workers. Our hospital volunteers are usually accompanied by a Lifesharing team member as they visit local medical centers and share their personal stories. Donor family members and transplant recipients are excellent candidates for this volunteer role.
General Outreach/Events: These volunteers may help at community events, informational booths, organ donor registry drives, etc. These volunteers are flexible — they’re willing to pitch in as needed.
